Summary: My car is recently off warranty

Review: My car is recently off warranty and I am looking for a shop I trust because I plan to keep the car. Service was impersonal compared to dealership and other shops I visited. CLA seems indifferent on the desire to have my current and future business. Made reservation around a week ago for multiple services including brakes. Brought at 8 AM. I did not receive a call following brake check. When I called back at 2 PM, I was informed that it would have to stay overnight. Here was no expectation of a 2 day requirement for the work needed. So brakes were not done. When I arrived at 5, it still was not ready after 9 hours with the car. Again, CLA seemed indifferent on whether I came back. No one explained the general results of the inspection or work completed. There were no observations on how I should feel about the cars ability to be counted on or what service is next. That expectation might be unreasonable but I see it no difference in todays service and my past experiences. Online update is confusing. Without explanation, it seemed as though I still needed to go to the dealer if I wanted an educated diagnostic opinion on the car. It was emphasized that delays are due to CLA not carrying BMW parts. Online answers were incomplete and implied feedback was not possible. Ashley was courteous, knowledgeable and provided acceptable answers to my questions. I am not yet sure when I will take it back for brakes and alignment. Prices are comparable to dealer. I had a mini-Cooper that We brought to CLA for years and was very pleased. They were very attentive and seemed like they were in our corner of getting the most out of the car. Today was a less encouraging experience given my 880 bill, plus $500 plus for future work, and the future expenses to keep an out of warrantee BMW in service for years to come.
